Ever wonder what it's like to work for Demand Media Studios? Hundreds of people chimed in about why Demand Media works for them. Tune in daily to read their firsthand accounts.

I am Karen Lee Banks, and my writing experience spans about 25 years, primarily for creative writing and academic papers (throughout master’s and now doctorate degree programs). I began my professional freelance writing and editing career about two years ago and have had numerous pieces published in various online venues. I discovered Demand Media Studios initially in 2008, and after a hiatus involving some larger projects, I returned to Demand Media Studios and discovered a consistent flow of work and twice-weekly paychecks. This is a blessing, since my husband has been unemployed; my freelance income is keeping us solvent.

It's Writer Wednesday! Each week we ask our writers a question via Facebook and Twitter. The answers, stories, and overall response have been so great that we want to feature them on our blog! My name is Will Charpentier. I've had a couple of jobs. I wrote a couple of books. Although Demand Media Studios entered my world as a part-time way to pass a summer while making some money, it's become a full-time challenge, and I enjoy the opportunity to leave someone the key to an "Aha!" moment in 500 words or less. What more could anyone want?

I'm Beth Richards, and I've always been a writer, although it hasn't always been my full-time job. My background is in optics and English. If I'm not writing, I'm thinking about writing, teaching it, editing other people's writing or talking about writing with my daughters who are both writers — one of whom also writes for Demand Media Studios. I absolutely love working with Demand Media Studios. The company is progressive, supportive, innovative, flexible and fun. I can work from anywhere and on my own schedule; it’s such a fantastic gig.

I'm Susan Presley, a 46-year-old untraditional college senior. I learned about Demand Media Studios at a conference for the Society of Professional Journalists and was intrigued, but it took me a while to get here. When I did, I wished I'd started working here earlier. What I enjoy about Demand Media Studios is the flexibility and the near-instant pay.
