My name is Laurel King, and I live to write. When my husband got out of the army, I had to leave Hawaii and a job teaching middle school students. After moving to Arizona, Virginia and back to Arizona within a few short months, I was at a loss for "traditional" employment. So I went online to look for freelance writing jobs, found Demand Media Studios and was accepted the same day as a writer. Since then, I have enjoyed the freedom and competitive pay Demand Media Studios has to offer, especially considering my nomadic lifestyle. As long as I have my laptop, I can write as many articles as I want, all the while knowing my payments will come in like clockwork. Now that I'm a full-time freelance writer, I choose my work schedule, subjects, clients and pay. I couldn't ask for anything more.
We JUST finished saying our goodbyes to the long days of summer, and it's already time for those autumn coats and cooler evenings to take over. The Harvest Moon, which rises much faster than a normal moonrise, will solidify the beginning of the season tomorrow, September 23rd. This is by far my favorite season, and there is nothing I love more than standing outside bundled up in the crisp, cooling air to watch this haunting moon rise.

It's time for warm drinks, big blankets, sweaters and an over-sized, colorful moon. There is nothing in the world I love more...maybe chocolate...

Don't miss it, team! Happy first day of autumn!

My name is Desirae Roy, and Demand Media Studios has been a saving grace for my family. Leaving my full-time teaching position to stay home with my baby was a dream come true, until the troubled economy forced my husband's new employer to halt hiring for three months. I was about to return to work when a friend introduced me to Demand Media Studios. Thanks to my new writing profession, I can not only remain the primary caregiver for my baby but also explore a new side of myself by learning and writing about topics that interest and challenge me.
There's a new exhibit hitting London that I wanted to share with some fellow typography fans ... I know you're out there.

Exhibition: Gastrotypographicalassemblage.

For those secretly in love with typography (it's okay, I'm one of them) this is one of many reasons why I wish I was a lot closer to the London Kemistry Gallery. The gallery features artwork and creative design of Lou Dofsman. I had no idea who he was until the post in the Creative Review blog explained he worked for CBS from 1946 to 1987 as Senior VP & Creative Director for Marketing, Communications and Design ... you know, just your typical day job.

Needless to say, Dofsman's work may seem slightly familiar, but it's amazing to see it all in one place.

Check out the post for more information.

I’m Evangeline Marzec. Last year, I was doing volunteer work in developing countries and started freelancing online to finance my living expenses. Once back in the U,S., I started my own company, and writing for Demand Media Studios has allowed me to have a secure income while keeping my schedule flexible for my business. And let me tell you — I can't wait to get health insurance. Few entrepreneurs have that opportunity.

My name is Debbi Tom. For more than 30 years, my passion for writing took a back burner to a job that would support my two sons and I. I opened my own bar/restaurant near Pittsburgh 14 years ago. I thought I’d saved enough money for an early retirement and moved to Arizona. The economy had different ideas for my “nest egg,” and I soon realized I wasn’t going to be able to survive without additional income. This opportunity at Demand Media Studios gives me the freedom to choose my own hours and work at something I emphatically enjoy: freelance writing.
Summer has officially come and gone, and it's time to reflect back on some delicious treats we had during those warmer nights. Check out this week's Feature Friday.

I’m Donna Johnson, and I began writing Internet content in 2009. I was looking for a way to generate income as a stay-at-home mother. After writing for other sites for a while, I discovered Demand Media Studios through a forum. Demand Media Studios has a great amount of flexibility and allows me to earn money while still having plenty of time to spend with my husband and three children. Although being a mom is a full-time job itself, I am proud to once again be able to contribute so much financially to my household as well.

Several weeks ago we shared this link on our Facebook wall, and I just happened to stumble upon it today. I got Marina Script last time, but I'm ready for a different font. How about you? What type are you? Have you changed?
