The Difference Between Writing for Demand Studios and eHow
Posted by Admin | September 3, 2008 | Comments (8)
We have received numerous questions from writers about the benefits of writing “How to” articles for Demand Studios instead of writing directly on ehow.com when the work is all published on the same site anyway. Here is a quick rundown of the advantages and disadvantages of writing for each:
Writing Directly to eHow:
As a member of eHow, writers are eligible for the Writer’s Compensation Program which pays based on the traffic an article generates. There is no guarantee of how much money an individual can make.
Members can interact with one another, make and accept friend requests, accrue points, comment on other articles and use all other member privileges.
There is no waiting period between the writing of an article and when it is published on the site.
Writing for Demand Studios:
A writer must be hired by Demand Studios based on a resume and writing samples and consequently, a high level of writing ability is expected.
All work that is published is paid for with a flat fee.
A writer will have a byline on articles, however, the writer will not have member privileges on eHow.
Writers are not eligible to collect Writer’s Compensation Program earnings.
Writers will be considered for work on other websites affiliated with Demand Studios as the opportunities arise (www.livestrong.com, www.golflink.com, www.rsportscars.com, etc.)
Even if a writer starts on eHow and then is hired by Demand Studios, the accounts cannot be combined.
