My current literary crush...It would have to be Peeta Mellark from "The Hunger Games" series. Wow. They didn't make them like that when I was growing up. Shoot. They don't make them that way now, I don't think. His combination of dorkiness, kindness and pure love as well as his turn to the darkside and his trip back again. I think about him and the main character Katniss Everdeen all the time and wonder if my characters will ever be that good.

I'm going with the easy one and admitting my crush on Mr. Darcy. He's intense, quiet and loves deeply. Wait, I think I just described my husband. Ah, no wonder Mr. Darcy has my literary crush!

Initially, it was great American novelists such as John Steinbeck and Hemingway. By the time I got to college I was completely entranced with Virginia Woolf's stream of consciousness prose. Her tortured life and untreated depression were legendary -- but the fact that she was an independent thinker and non-traditional in her lifestyle has always intrigued me. A ROOM OF ONE'S OWN I read in my senior year in high school. By freshman year of college I had read almost all of her works.

My dream-character is Stephen Maturin from the Aubrey-Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian! SIGH! Why can't I find a guy like that? Intelligent, deep, and funny!

I have a literary crush on Steve Martin, the actor and comedian. He also writes amazing, literate novels. And then stars in the film adaptations of them. What can't that man do?
