Nancy Drew, the leading character from the Nancy Drew Mystery Stories I loved during the late '50s to early 60s [yes, I'm showing my - urp - age]. Anyway, to me Nancy Drew was a bold, intelligent and independent teenager, something I admired.

Harry Tuttle, the renegade repairman played by Robert De Niro in the 1985 film "Brazil." He is always the surprise hero - rappelling in from the balcony to save the day by fixing something without going through proper channels.

Here's his comment on paperwork:

"I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's trouble, a man alone. Now they got the whole country sectioned off, you can't make a move without a form."

Genius.
