Johnny Kilhefner

I began my freelance career nearly three years ago, but my interest in language was cultivated much earlier. The potency emanating from a certain combinations of words -- whether prose or rhyme -- tugged on a cord in my brain, and ever since I've merely been following the strings. It began with the grim street dreams portrayed by Nas in Illmatic, where I learned the musicality a stream of words in the right order could create. Before long I found myself studying Shakespearean iambic pentameter and "art for art's sake" promoted by the aesthetes in the aesthetic movement. In these modern times I see myself as part of a crusade in the power of language, and promote it in every article I write for Demand Studios, Examiner and wherever else the freelance winds take me.
